ARSONISTS destroyed a classroom when they set fire to a primary school on Sunday night.
The fireraisers broke into Mersey Drive Primary School, Whitefield, through a window that had earlier been smashed and boarded up.
The fire is believed to have smouldered unnoticed throughout the night.
Fire crews from Whitefield and Bury arrived at about 6.15am. Teachers were allowed to inspect the damage this morning.
