AN Easter egg-stravaganza will be held by Burnley and Pendle Hospice Care at the Pendleside Hospice, Reedley, on Saturday.

The event, starting at 10am, will feature the traditional stalls including tombola, cakes, crafts, children's games and bric-a-brac as well as new stalls including hand-crafted cards and linen.

The fun day also sees the draw for the Easter raffle with 30 prizes, including a bed donated by Silentnight, a signed snooker cue donated by Rileys, a shopping trolley full of food from Asda, Thornton's Easter egg, a Sunday lunch for two at the Higher Trapp, Simonstone and an autographed Burnley football shirt.

There will be various children's games and children up to the age of 14 will be asked to enter an Easter egg decorating competition.

Each entrant will be given an Easter egg donated by Asda and the chance to win a Silentnight Hippo.

All money raised will go to the hospice.

Fund-raising manager Kaye Bartle said: "It promises to be good fun for all the family. The event is taking place indoors so visitors can avoid the usual Bank Holiday soaking."

Anyone who can help by providing home baked biscuits, buns or cakes is asked to drop them off at the Hospice on Good Friday or Easter Saturday morning.
