ACCIDENT victim Darren Helm, who took part in a skipathon to raise money for other head injury sufferers, has raised nearly £1,000.
Darren, 30, a self-employed builder of Great Harwood, suffered major injuries in a road accident 10 years ago which left him fighting for his life.
But the Burnley and Pendle branch of Headway, which provides support for the victims of brain damage and their families, helped him move on with his life and he organised the skipathon to help pay them back.
He said: "Headway helped me so much after the accident and I just wanted to repay them.
"Everyone has been really generous in sponsoring me and I am very grateful to them all."
The group meets at Brierfield Community Centre where Darren completed his two-hour skipping marathon that brought in £957.
Anyone wanting to learn more about the association can call Margaret Monkton on 01282 425109 or visit one of the meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at Brierfield community centre.
The meetings start at 7.30pm.
