ROSSENDALE Chartists are plannning to attack the local council and its officers over what they see as 'indifference'.
They are preparing a document which will include letters to the council and its official replies.
Two of the nine citizens' rights in Rossendale Council's Charter are the right to 'expect you will be listened to' and to 'be given straightforward and easy to understand information'.
In recent weeks, the Rossendale Chartists have raised two key concerns with the council but have failed to get a straightforward answer on either. And on one matter no response was made until a follow up letter was sent.
Chartists' chairman Alan Johnson said: "Whatever the reason, it is very bad practice as well as being very bad manners."
The group is planning a publication entitled 'Trying to nail jelly to the ceiling' which will include letters to the council and its responses to them.
Examples can be sent to secretary, 8 St James Street, Rawtenstall, BB4 8EX by April 12.
