WE are disappointed and worried at the proposals by the county council for the future care of the elderly.
They deeply affect care for the old, the sick, the vulnerable and frail members of society who are unable to speak up for themselves.
We feel that the cabinet should either support us in the fight to keep these homes open, or stand down.
A more positive approach is required if we are to maintain and improve the quality of care services. Decisions do not need to be made until 2007, so why upset and worry the residents and their families now?
Our own relative lives at the Cravenside home for the elderly in Barnoldswick and we cannot speak highly enough of the care she receives. We hope she will continue to do so.
