HARWOOD boss Denis Underwood described Mossley's 93rd minute winner as 'soul destroying' for his NWCL Division One relegation-threatened side.

Underwood thought his side, currently propping up the league, had held on for a morale-boosting draw against one of the teams challenging for promotion.

But Richard Harris popped up to convert a chance with virtually the last touch of the game to add to Harwood's woes.

"It was soul destroying, I am absolutely gutted," said the Harwood chief whose side face a tough task to escape the drop.

Harwood did well in the first half, Simon Garner having two half chances and Graham Lightbown coming close.

And Paul Haythornewaite, making his first start since signing from Sabden, also could have opened the scoring with a Beckham style chip from the half way line which the keeper did well to chase back and tip over.

But after the break it was all Mossley.

"They came out and put us under a lot of pressure and every lad they threw on seemed to be a giant," said Underwood.

"They couldn't break us down and I thought the referee was going to blow so it was heartbreaking when they scored."
