ONE touch, one goal. Super sub Damian Ingham secured Padiham all three points with an injury time winner at Cheadle Town in the NWCL Division Two.

In the first half both sides created chances, Kirk Marsden made important saves in the opening stages for Padiham while Ian Pilkington shot wide and Robbie Smith shot over.

But the only goal in the opening 45 minutes came three minutes from the break when Shaun Kendall won possession and played in Dean Stowe who scored with a 25 yard dipping shot over the head of Steve Dreyden.

Padiham increased their lead to five minutes into the second half when a long punt upfield by Andrew Kelly found Pilkington who rounded the keeper to notch his 19th goal of the season.

Within three minutes of the restart Simon Shorrocks headed in Cheadle's first of the night following a corner.

Pilkington, Smith had efforts for the Storks while Steve Elwell forced Marsden into a full length save.

Cheadle equalised in the 69th minute when Marsden misjudged a cross allowing Scott Clemons the easiest of chances.

Pilkington then put Padiham back in front when he headed in a Dean Stowe cross but Paul Wardle made it 3-3.

Then came the dramatic winner. Manager Graham Howarth sent on last minute sub Ingham and with his one and only touch of the ball, the player earned Padiham their first win in seven outings with a scorching left wing shot into the top corner.
