Rams thriller
Ramsbottom United 3 Congleton 2
Ramsbottom midfielder Karl Brown was man of the match in a gutsy victory. United took the lead through John Phillips but the visitors seized the initiative with two goals in three minutes just after the hour. A Stephen Sheil header on 78 minutes and Russell Brierley with his 33rd goal of the season five minutes from time sealed all three NWCL Division One points.
Colls suffer
Prescot Cables 3 Atherton Colls 0
Missed chances cost Colls dear in a dress rehearsal for the Worthington Challenge Cup Final. A superb save to deny Phil Hill saw play switch immediately to the other end of the field and Prescot took the lead. The last minute of the first half saw Colls' Leon Smith have a penalty saved. Atherton bossed the second half but fell to further goals. Centre back Ian Callaghan was again Colls' star man.
