LONGRIDGE History Society members welcomed Cliff Astin to their latest meeting for a talk on the history and beauty of the Lune Valley from Green Bell Hill to Glasson Dock.
As well as talking about the villages along the river, Mr Astin also spoke about interesting places in Lancaster, Morecambe and Heysham.
The journey ended beyond Glasson Dock and Sunderland Point, at the remains of Cockersand Abbey.
At the final society meeting of the season on April 4, Nigel Morgan will present his talk on the Hearth Tax or the History of a Local Hall. The group will meet in St Paul's Centenary Room at 7.30pm.
