CLASSIC 1 scored 17 points from their home fixture against David Lloyd Bolton.
The visitors were badly depleted and Mike Howard missed his first match for several seasons for lack of an opponent. The remaining four matches were all resolved 3-0 in a totally one-sided fashion. Tod Bulmer, Mark Taylor and Howard Thornley delivered swift wins for Classic, while Graham Collier inexplicably found himself on the wrong side of a 3-0 result.
Classic 2 lost 4-1 playing away to Rochdale 6. Vic Moses and Dave Haines were outplayed, both losing 3-0. Gordon Bailey looked good in the second game, leading 7-1. He struggled to hold onto the lead and also lost his match 3-0. Lynda Gregory continued her good form and soundly beat her opponent. A good performance, earning Classic three points. Graham Draper again entertained the spectators with yet another energy sapping five setter. Draper although giving 100 per cent, had to settle for two points.
