JAMIE Wilton is now 'Sir Jamie' after being granted an honorary knighthood in recognition for his hard work at school.
The 10-year-old Leigh Sacred Heart pupil was among 60 other North-West school children to receive the prestigious award at Camelot Theme Park.
The lucky children and their families were treated to a day out at the park, which followed a special ceremony in which each child was knighted by King Arthur and presented with a scroll commending their achievements, a Knight's tabbard and a lifetime pass to Camelot.
The knighthoods were awarded by Camelot to children who have overcome personal difficulties, tried extra hard at school or spent time helping others.
Jamie, of Twist Lane, Leigh, was nominated by teacher Helen Ahmed and staff at Sacred Heart.
Mrs Ahmed said: "Jamie is a lovely boy and always willing to help -- all the children are -- but Jamie exceptionally so. He is so kind to the other children and always asking staff if there is anything he can help with. I went up to watch him and it was an excellent day, he really does deserve it."
