THE Caldervale Country 10M Road Race starts from Caldervale Village Hall at 1pm on Good Friday, and there is a four mile Fun Run at noon. The main race is over a challenging single lap using country roads. From the M6 at Broughton travel north on A6. Just before Garstang turn right at Rogers of Brock Garage (signposted Caldervale two miles).

The Salford 10km Road Race is on a fast two lap course at 11am on Friday. Changing and shower facilities are available at the venue, Kersal High School at Kersal Vale.

The Southport Good Friday Races have a new format this year because of road works. All races are at Victoria Park, starting with a 3K Fun Run for under 16's at 10am. A ladies 4M is at 10:30am, with the men's race, also a four miler at 11:15am.

The Rivington Pike Race is reputed to be the oldest fell race in the country. 3.25M long with 700' of ascent, it starts at 3pm on Easter Saturday at Lever Park Avenue, Horwich. Registration is at the Crown Pub at the junction of Lee Lane and Chorley New Road in Horwich. Junior races will be held from the rear of Rivington High School from 1pm.

Over the next four Tuesdays there will be Bunny Runs from the Guide Inn, 1.5M south-east of Keighley. Races will be 3M long with 300' of ascent. Open to over 14's, all finishers will win a Cadbury's Crme Egg. This week's race starts at 7pm.

The ASDA run for Robyn Brooks 5K Road Race starts at 7pm on Tuesday. Race HQ is the Falcon Inn, The Square, Littleborough on the A58 Halifax Road.
