WITH the players of both Wolves and Burnley striving to reach the Premier League, two men go head-to-head who share a promotion winning experience.

Alex Rae and Kevin Ball were midfield team-mates in Sunderland's Division One title-winning side three years ago and they will clash at Turf Moor tomorrow as they chase the dream once again.

Rae moved to Molineux earlier this season in a £1million deal and scored his first goal for the club when Wolves beat Burnley 3-0 in October.

He has been an influential figure in the Midlands club's push not only for automatic promotion but for the championship.

When Dave Jones signed him he explained it was because he wanted Premier League class players to help get the club back up to the top flight for the first time in 20 years.

The fact that Rae likes to get forward and join the attack means that he is certain to come up against his former skipper at some stage, even if Ball again plays as a central defender as he did last week at Bramall Lane.

The 37-year-old has done well whenever he has dropped into the back-line this season but his ball winning skills were sorely missing in the 3-0 defeat by the Blades.
