GREAT Harwood boss Denis Underwood refuses to throw in the towel despite his side's perilous position at the bottom of the NWCL Division One table.
Three successive losses has left Harwood rooted to the foot of the table and with the possibility of the bottom three going down, it is looking bleak for Harwood.
Underwood was downcast after a 6-0 hammering by fellow strugglers Glossop on Saturday but felt better despite a last gasp 1-0 loss to promotion hopefuls Mossley midweek.
"After Saturday I just felt we were going nowhere but after Tuesday I felt better. I could see we had improved and that has given me hope.
"On Tuesday night, I thought 'how are we in this position when we can play like this?'
"But we are where we are and we have ten games left to get out of this position.
"We don't know how many will go down this season but we have got to try and finish as high up as we can."
A win on their trip to Woodley Sports tomorrow is a must but Underwood is hampered by injuries.
His skipper Neil Kennedy is expected to recover from a bad knock he took on his foot which forced him out of Tuesday's encounter.
But James Coonan is a doubt after an operation on his nose.
And then there's a big local derby at Harwood on Monday when they welcome Clitheroe to the Showground.
"It is a big game for us," admitted Underwood. "We have a game on Wednesday as well so with three games in a week we will have to see where that takes us."
