RON and Jean Booth made the perfect match when they met at Griffin's football ground in Blackburn - and they have been supporting football together ever since.
The couple of Norman Street, Blackburn, celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary yesterday. They were married at the old Cardwell Place Register Office, had a small reception at home and a honeymoon in Blackpool.
They are still avid supporters of Blackburn Rovers and have four children, 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Ron was a maintenance worker at Scapa Scandia, Blackburn, before he retired aged 61 in 1991. Jean was a machinist at Newmans Footwear until she retired in 1990.
The jet-set pair have enjoyed five trips to Australia visiting family but still enjoy walking and listening to music when they are at home.
