EAST Lancashire pop star Kevin Simm is set to make a summer comeback - just months after a high court judge made his group change its name.
The Abbey Village 'flopstar' originally landed a record contract after being one of the final 10 not to win the Popstars programme.
Along with the four other final losers, Richard Branson snapped them up to form Liberty and they had one top five and one top 20 hit.
But they were then taken to court by an 80s funk outfit also called Liberty, who claimed the name belonged to them.
The judge agreed -- and several weeks later Liberty came back with their new name, Libertyx.
But despite the hitches, 22-year-old Kevin, whose parents used to run the Royal Hotel in Abbey Village before returning to their native Leyland last year, believes they can go on and have more success.
Kevin said: "Our next single is due out in May and it has been going really well.
"It is just being remixed now and is due to be released in May."
