A LOCAL theatre group is bringing to life a story by one of America's greatest modern playwrights.
South Ribble Youth Company have teamed up with Leyland's C'est Tous Theatre Company to present A View From The Bridge, by Arthur Miller.
C'est Tous, which specialises in Shakespeare Plays, are hosting the play with some of the area's most talented young actors.
Arthur Miller, famous for writing The Crucible, about witch-hunts in small town America, is one of the best-known writers on US life.
And A View From The Bridge tells the tale of Eddie Carbone, a longshoreman. The tragic story follows Eddie's life, through his turbulent relationships with his wife Beatrice, and step-daughter Catherine. Tensions reach boiling point in the family when two illegal Italian American immigrant workers -- Rodolpho and Marco -- turn up, to stay in secret with the family.
Chris Clegg, who plays Italian immigrant Rodolpho, said: "It's been good fun. We have had a lot of time to experiment with the characters and work on the parts.
"It's a strong cast and we get on really well. It helps on stage, and shows that we're not just a group of strangers. We really know each other."
It's on Thursday and Friday, April 11 and 12 and Wednesday, April 17, in the picturesque settings of the Worden Arts Centre in Worden Park, Leyland. There will also be a special pre-show talk at 7pm, and the shows start at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5. For details, ring 431300.
