PEOPLE concerned that lives are being put at risk at the expense of building a dedicated emergency road to Fairfied General Hospital are urged to attend a public meeting.
Bury Pensioners Association have arranged the meeting as part of their high-profile campaign for an alternative route to the hospital. They claim the present access road is unsuitable for emergency vehicles because of heavy traffic on Rochdale OId Road.
A new campaign body to "attract a wider cross-section of the people in Bury" will be set up at the public meeting on Tuesday, April 16 at St Bede's Social Club, Rochdale Old Road at 7.30pm.
