SUCCESS certainly tasted good for youngsters at Lowercroft Primary School and they got to eat it!
They won chocolate eggs after coming top in this year's Easter Egg Value for Money competition.
The contest attracted entries from across the borough, but it was the Year 5 pupils who earned the £50 cash reward for their school and the sweets for themselves.
The event is organised by Bury Council's trading standards officers, and aims to make children aware of consumer rights and value for money. Each school was given three kinds of chocolate Easter egg and the pupils had to decide which was the best value for money. That meant considering everything from price and packaging to weight and contents and, of course, the taste!
Councillor Pam Walker, public protection spokesman, said: "The competition gives children the chance to find out about what is good value for money. It also covers a wide spectrum of the curriculum, taking in maths, English, science, technology and art."
