POLICE today launched a murder-style inquiry after the death of a man in his 60s in Burnley.
Police said Raja Qayyam was attacked at his house in Halifax Road, Haggate, Burnley, on Saturday afternoon and taken to Burnley General Hospital.
He was treated for his injuries but later died.
Police said they were investigating whether any weapons were used.
Six local people -- five men and one woman have been arrested in connection with the incident.
They are being held in various police stations across East Lancashire and were due to be interviewed today.
A spokesman for Burnley CID said: "We are investigating a suspicious death in Halifax Road, Burnley, on Saturday night. At this stage six people have been arrested and are being held for questioning."
