Dave Bassett: "IT IS a game Blackburn could have drawn but we got a couple of breaks and Ian Walker pulled off a great save.

"Having said that, though, I thought we created some good chances ourselves.

"I was disappointed with the way we started the second half to concede the goal in the manner we did and that was just what Blackburn needed at that time.

"Then we had to start all over again but, in fairness to the boys, they kept working and Dickov popped up and got the winner with 15 minutes to go.

"Last week he had chances against Leeds and he couldn't quite take them but this week he did and I was pleased for him. When he came to us he wasn't fully match fit because he'd been sitting on the bench at Man City but he's gradually getting fitter and I thought he took his goals very well."

"If he carries on at that rate he'll be the leading goalscorer here shortly. He's only got two more to catch up with Robbie Fowler!"

"As for Blackburn, I thought they did some good stuff in spells but they've got some good players there, haven't they?

"They certainly aren't a mugs team because there's a lot of expensive players there who have got a lot of experience."

GRAEME SOUNESS:

Graham Souness

"THIS is a bad result for us. Okay the other results didn't go too badly for us apart from the Bolton one, but that's not what's in my head right now.

"Coming here and getting something was very important to us and we haven't done that."
