I WOULD like to express my thanks to all the considerate motorcyclists in the Ramsbottom and Edenfield area.

The care they show when driving past horses is excellent, passing wide and slow and sometimes even cutting the engine sound if it is noisy. They seem to be much more aware than other road users of what could occur if a horse becomes frightened.

In a highly-populated, horse-owning area, riders have little choice other than to use main roads, so I hope that riders say "thank-you" with a smile or a nod when a courteous driver does pass them.

SHARON and TED,

Ramsbottom.
