SO the Gibraltar question has raised its head again in that 30,000 Gibraltarians want nothing to do with the suggestion of faint sovereignty with Spain.

When I lived and worked in Gibraltar it came across that the only things British about its inhabitants was that the children sat GCEs as they were called then, and the parents sat down at 4pm every afternoon to eat cucumber sandwiches washed down with copious quantities of Earl Grey tea.

If I had been afforded the same privileges, accompanied by the low rates of income tax enjoyed by the locals, I may have still worked there now.

If I was a Gibraltarian I too would be charging to the flag pole on the roof of the governor's residence until my knuckles turned white if it meant keeping low taxes and privileges us on the main land can only dream of.
