A GOAL 11 minutes from time denied Bacup a point in a NCWL second division clash they dominated.

The home side held the majority of possession but a header from a corner late in the game handed Leek all three points.

Bacup boss Brent Peters that his side had struggled to create clear cut chances for all their possession but was disappointed to have surrendered a point.

"To be honest I would have been happy with a draw," said Peters. "After the win over Darwen during the week that would have given us four points from two difficult fixtures, but instead we got nothing and I was disappointed with the way we conceded the goal from a set-piece."

Bacup's best chances fell in the second half but Martin Peters failed to get in a clean strike after breaking through and then Nicky Taylor put a good effort narrowly wide.

Defender Ian McClelland twice went close with headers but chances were few and far between.

BACUP were set to welcome Squires Gate to West View today (ko 3pm)
