LUTEL James took his tally to 24 goals for the season with a late brace to give Stanley a realistic chance of a second spot finish in the UniBond Premier Division.
John Coleman's fourth placed side have played more games than the teams around them but are in a rich vein of form having won six of their last seven games.
And, with struggling Bamber Bridge the visitors to the Crown Ground today (ko 3pm), another victory would mean they stand a good chance of maintaining their blistering finish to the season.
The Reds made the trip to Holker Street with Coleman demanding more following a lack lustre draw against Gainsborough Trinity on Wednesday night.
And, although the first half didn't produce too much in the way of entertainment, the Reds certainly found their feet in the second half with a four goal show.
The best chance before the interval fell to Paul Mullin who's header from Barrie Hart's corner was on target but Barrow keeper Simon Bishop denied the Reds frontman.
They finally made the breakthrough eight minutes after the restart when one of Peter Cavanagh's special free kicks from the edge of the area found the corner of the net.
Mullin scored the next on 73 minutes to make it 27 goals for the season for him.
His header hit the crossbar and bounced down and over the line and, although it was cleared, the assistant referee ruled that it was a goal.
Paul Burns then had a good chance to double his tally for the season but, with only Bishop to beat, his effort went over.
But James made amends with his late strikes. He rounded the keeper to fire home from a tight angle on 89 minutes and then, in injury time, the former Bury man squeezed the ball under the keeper to complete the rout.
However, the Reds are struggling today with injuries. Big defender Jonathan Smith limped off against Barrow and looks set to miss today while Steve Hollis and Russell Payne are out.
The game may also come too early for goalkeeper Jamie Speare who has missed the last three encounters with a groin strain.
It was hoped he would return for today's encounter but youngster Danny Thorpe may continue to deputise.
Bamber Bridge look certainties to be relegated this season and Coleman is disappointed about this.
"They are not one of the teams that I want to go down," said the Reds chief.
"It is a local derby, a nice pitch and it is a game we look forward to.
"But I saw them the other week against Burton and they only lost 1-0 and really battled.
"It won't be an easy game."
