USUALLY, the cast of a play outnumber the crew, but Oswaldtwistle Players' production of 'The Haunting of Hill House' is definitely an exception to the rule.
The play, at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre from April 17 to 20, requires countless sound effects some of which are done live and some recorded, as Hill House becomes another member of the cast.
Gayle Knight, spokeswoman for the group, said: "It's rare for the backstage crew to get any recognition for their work, but for this production they have to become a part of the house itself.
"The timing and precision required also involves a lot of work and the backstage crew are involved in most of the rehearsals."
Tickets are now available for The Haunting of Hill House from Oswaldtwistle Post Office and Accrington Town Hall. Block bookings should contact Gayle Knight on 01254 387851.
