JAMIE Connelly hit two wonderful goals as Villa caused a cup upset against close rivals Ossie Juniors.
Juniors may have been missing a number of key players but, having put 10 goals past Villa in their two league meetings, they were firm favourites to progress.
And that seemed to be the case when Martin Sweeney rounded off a flowing move with a well taken goal.
In fairness, Villa started the better of the teams and Daniel Earnshaw wasted two good chances before Sweeney opened the scoring.
But Ossie Juniors finally kicked in to life and Johnny Livesey, their best player of the half, burst clear and forced a fine save out of Sam Lucas.
However, Villa grabbed a deserved equaliser just before the break when Connelly raced on to a through ball by Roberts Woods and cooly slotted the ball past Joshua Livesey.
After the break, Ossie Juniors played with more urgency and Villa keeper Lucas had to be alert to clear the ball as Livesey raced on to a Sweeney pass.
Livesey then fired a shot just past the upright before Sweeney forced another good save out of Lucas following good play by Ryan Baron down the left.
At the end other end, Liam Garrigan was forced to head of his own goal line after Daniel Earnshaw's shot beat Livesey.
But Villa were soon in the lead when Connelly latched on to a short back pass from substitute Chris McPhail and beat Livesey with a wonderful chip from an acute angle.
The Villa lads sensed an upset was on the cards and did everything to keep the Juniors at bay -- with Oliver Smith hacking one shot off the line after a rare fumble from Lucas.
Ossie Juniors were seeing plenty of the ball in the close stages and nearly grabbed a last gasp leveller when Livesey and Darren Ormerod combined to set up Baron whose shot was well saved by Lucas.
So a famous win for Villa which goes a long way to erasing the two heavy league defeats.
