ROVERS Reserves crushed Leeds United at a muddy Bootham Crescent last night.
Jimmy Corbett and Egil Ostenstad grabbed two each and Jon Douglas one as a young and inexperienced side containing only goalkeeper Paul Robinson with first team experience, were brushed aside.
The win completes a double over the Yorkshiremen as Alan Murray's men blasted Leeds 4-0 in the equivalent 'home' fixture at Morecambe back in November.
Coach Alan Murray described it as: "excellent, probably the best we have played this season."
He said: "We played our football at every occasion. The terrible pitch didn't help, but I am very pleased with the performance of everybody on the night.
"Two of our goals came form well-worked corners. It's what we practice and it's great to see it executed in a match situation."
Rovers were ahead within three minutes.
