THE guns roared and the cannons blazed as members of the world famous Sealed Knot Society went into battle.
The group staged a mock clash at Hoghton Tower, near Blackburn, turning the country grounds into a "bloody" battlefield.
The visit was one of many made by the society, which re-enacts battles between the Cavaliers and the Roundheads which reached parts of Lancashire in the 17th Century.
Peter Heald (above) is pictured testing his musket before the battle and (top left) the guns blaze at the enemy.
