NEW contract talks are underway between the Centurions and coach Paul Terzis.
And chairman Mike Nolan says he is confident that a deal can be struck.
Terzis is also keen to work out an extension to his current contract which expires at the end of the season and admits that both sides have found 'common ground' in recent days.
Mr Nolan says: "I'm confident that the situation can now be resolved quite quickly. We are talking about a long-term deal."
And Terzis says he is happy to talk. "The speculation linking me with a move to a Super League club is just that, speculation.
"I've never hidden the fact that my ambition is to coach in Super League. Leigh have never hidden their ambition to be a Super League club, hopefully we can achieve those goals together.
"We have found a lot of common ground and if we can now agree on other small aspects of the club's development, then I believe we can do business. I would like the whole thing concluded as quickly as possible, then both parties know where they stand.
"If we can reach agreement then it would be fantastic," he added.
Meanwhile Leigh are ready to drop their interest in Featherstone's highly-rated scrum-half Jamie Rooney.
Rated at £40,000, the 21-year-old is regarded as the best Number 7 outside Super League but after making one offer, Leigh will not wait for ever.
"Chairman Mike Nolan said: "I made Featherstone a non-negotiable offer and they never responded. So I can only assume that they don't want to do business.
"We won't go begging, there are plenty of other fish in the sea."
Neil Turley could make a surprise return from injury in the National League Cup tie with Workington at Hilton Park on Sunday.
It was thought that Turley would miss two or three weeks with an ankle injury but he's been able to train this week and if there's is no reaction, Terzis could name him in the side.
John Duffy, re-signed from Chorley, will be in the 17 but Paul Anderson is a doubt because of a pinched nerve in his neck.
