IN RESPONSE to Mr Peel's letter of March 21, can I just say that if more councillors had voted withy the MBI to keep Crinkley Bottom for the duration of the three-year contract, we wouldn't have had all the adverse publicity resulting from NIMBYs like Mr Peel.
We would have had an attraction in the park for three years, and no massive court costs for the local taxpayer to fork out.
The two and a half million pound cost of Crinkley Bottom was mostly due to the ridiculous decision to close the park after only three months - nobody in their right mind would think they could walk away from a contract without incurring massive penalties - well nobody, it seems, but local Labour, Conservative and Liberal politicians that is.
Wasn't Mr Peel, by his own admission, one of those people on TV telling visitors not to come to Morecambe and Crinkley Bottom?
Maybe some of the money should be repaid by Mr Peel - after all, it could be said he played a part in Crinkley Bottom's failure.

Don't start blaming the public! This was done by officers who were (at the very best) out of their depth and by councillors not up to the task - nobody involved should ever be allowed to squander public cash again.
The public should send a strong message to politicians of all parties that any attempts to keep the facts from the people will not succeed.
Anybody directly involved in this should resign now because if we believe their protests that there was no wilful misconduct then the only remaining conclusion is that they were simply incompetent.
Resign now before it gets worse and more costly Ed
