FURTHER propaganda in the local press, this time from Cllr Sheila Denwood, who pays tribute to the stream of top ranking officers who have recently retired at the council for their 'long service and loyalty'.
I do hope that this tribute does not refer to those officers who were key players when the council acted unlawfully, imprudently, irrational and mistakenly, as well as being responsible for the financial wizardry performed at the town hall over the last decade.
Based on my research, Scotforth ratepayers ought to look more carefully into how their elected council representative votes on important issues of public accountability, such as the council's internal audit report on the Salt Ayre Phase 2 swimming pool.
She voted to accept this report which failed to identify why the council lost financial control of the project.

Fair points, but I feel I should point out that Cllr Denwood's tribute was for an individual, extremely popular, long serving and well regarded officer, rather than the Dalton Square grandees you seem to be alluding to.
A point which we did make when the original letter appeared - Ed
