COUNCILLORS are expected to reject plans to operate two private hire vehicles from a house in Green End Avenue, Earby.
The application is to run the taxi business from the house, which is in a residential area, until midnight from Sunday to Thursday and until 2am Friday and Saturday.
Drivers would use the building as a rest place and few customer pick-ups are anticipated from the premises.
Five letters of objection have been received from residents in Green End Avenue and Victoria Road, citing inadequate parking, disruptive working hours, noise generation and an increased number of visitors to the area.
Planning officers have recommended refusal on the grounds that the loss of off-street parking would result in cars being parked in Green End Avenue and the proposal would be harmful to existing residents because of the noise and traffic movements it could generate.
