POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run which left a 10-year-old Blackpool girl with a fractured skull.
Jade Bianca Parker, of Erdington Road, Blackpool, was cycling along Bethesda Road, Blackpool when she was in collision with a Ford Escort at around 6.20pm on Saturday, March 30.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "She was in collision with a car which actually did fail to stop. She managed to get home and she was taken by her mother to the hospital where initially she was treated for concussion and what we thought was a sprained ankle but it was later found that she had actually got a hairline fracture of the skull."
She described the car as a white Ford Escort which was "quite old and in a tatty condition".
She added: "It did continue along Bethesda Road towards Chapel Street and from there we don't know where it went."
She described the driver as white, male, about 19 years old and wearing an Adidas cap. There was possibly a passenger alongside the driver, she said. The car may also have had a Homer Simpson figure or sunscreen in the window.
She urged any witnesses to the collision or anyone with information about it to contact the road policing unit at Blackpool Police on 604025.
