A SHOT was fired in Prestwich on Thursday after a gang armed with a handgun and a spanner raided a security van delivering cash to Tesco supermarket in Valley Park Road.
Armed police were called just after midnight last night.
A spokesman said one shot was fired but no one was injured. The gang escaped in a dark-blue coloured hatchback.
It is not yet known what was stolen. Witnesses should contact police in Bury on 0161 856 8151.
