A FAMILY had to flee their town centre home as a bedroom fire broke out.
The mother noticed the flames at around 9pm last Wednesday and managed to get her two young children out of bed and outside their home before calling the fire brigade to their terraced home on the corner of Boughey Street and Milton Street in Leigh.
Fire crew spent two hours putting out the blaze, which gutted the main bedroom and caused smoke damage to the remainder of the upper floor. It is thought it was caused by an electrical fault. No one was hurt.
