NEWCHURCH Women's Institute celebrated its 42nd birthday meeting in Newchurch Parish Hall.
A birthday cake was on display and tea was provided by hostesses P Gretton and A Langridge. Displays included Mrs T MacDonald's impressive spring flowers arrangement and fair trade goods. Newchurch also knitted 12 jumpers and eight blankets for the Jacob's Well charity which provides clothing for third world countries.
Mr E Clarke spoke about the history of chocolate and provided recipes to be sold for branch funds. Mrs B Pinkney won the chocolate box competition.
The next meeting will be held at Newchurch Parish Hall on Wednesday, April 10 from 7pm.
