HAS anyone else noticed the appalling condition of the zoo animal paddocks that border on the south end of East Park Drive?
Walking past this part of the zoo every day I have been more and more disgusted at the struggle these animals have just to cross from one side of their pen to the other. People are prosecuted by the RSPCA for keeping horses or donkeys in these sort of awful conditions yet the zoo seems to get away with it.
I recall similar complaints appearing in the letters column a couple of years ago but it is much worse now. How can the zoo claim to keep its animals in natural conditions when these poor animals are having to struggle through filthy freezing mud every day of their lives?
