MY mother is in the Hill Top home for the elderly in Baxenden and at 95 is now incapable of looking after herself. She is very happy at Hill Top. We had to move her there whensome time ago because the private care home she was in closed.
We have no complaints about Hill Top or its staff, and consider the facilities are fine. My mother cannot bathe herself, so the proposed upgrades regarding en-suite rooms, etc, would never apply.
Where we are going to end up worries us, as there are no other homes in the area. We had her with us for a number of years, but eventually could not handle the situation.
We have written to Tony Blair, Greg Pope, Joe Slater and County Councillor Chris Cheetham, who did not reply. But Joe Slater did briefly, and the letter written to Tony Blair was passed to the Health Minister, who did reply.
We do hope your newspaper can help us in our cause.
LESLEY ANNE TAYLOR, Baxenden.
