EPIC disco queen Margo Grimshaw is selling off one part of her empire for more than £1 million, saying it's just time to start winding down.

The famous landlady is handing over the keys of the former riverside De Tabley Pub at Ribchester, currently known as Burlingtons.

And although the mother-of-three will be keeping a hand in around ten pub ventures, she vows to find more time to write her life story.

The new father and son co-owners, James and Christopher Hoole, are christening the all-new De Tabley Bar and Grill at an exclusive party on Sunday.

They hope to follow in the footsteps of the "most exclusive and famous restaurant in the Ribble Valley".

Margo, who bought the pub from Whitbread ten years ago and christened it the Lodestar after a pub which she had sold off, said: "I have been leasing it off for a while now, so it's about time I started realising some of my assets.

"It is the most beautiful site on the river and the potential is fabulous. It was the place to be and it can be again."

But the memories of the original Lodestar go on.

She said: "I will always remember the magic moments and reminisce about bringing the first ever male stripper, Zooloo, to East Lancashire, and the first ever naughty but nice night with female and male strippers."

But the self-made millionairess is thrilled to be handing the pumps over to friend and fellow pub managing-giant Christopher Hoole.

She said the pub will have done "full circle" reverting back to traditional food and drink.

Christopher, who is officially retired from his Cafe Inns business, said: "We are really looking forward to creating a brasserie-style restaurant on this super site with a function room perfect for parties and galas.

"It is a truly unique site that has been under utilised."

Behind the b

urners will be head chef Tom Lowe from The Restaurant, John Dalton Street, Manchester, keeping the Burlington's "lunch for a fiver" going.
