THE recent Youth Merit League matches have provided youth coach Terry Pashley a chance to experiment.
In their most recent outing they notched a 2-0 away win over Shrewsbury.
After a first half in which the Shrews held the upper hand, the Clarets took control and goals from Paul Barrett and Matty O'Neill sealed victory.
"There wasn't much in the first half and, to be honest, I think they perhaps shaded it," admitted Pashley.
"We looked a bit tired but at least we reached half-time goalless.
"But in the second period we came out and passed the ball well and then we started to create chances."
With the reserves not making calls on his players Pashley was pleased to have had the chance to see a few players.
"I played a mixture and one or two of the lads played in positions they wouldn't generally play in," he admitted.
"But a few weren't involved in the reserves and they really needed a game."
Pashley's side still have a busy few weeks ahead of them with four Merit games to be played.
