CELEBRATIONS are in full swing for pub and micro-brewery The Ministry of Ale as it marks its first birthday.
The Moonstone brewery in Trafalgar Street, Burnley - one of 400 micro-breweries in the UK - has concocted more than 300 guest beers in its first year.
And licensee Mick Jacques, who has been in the industry for more than 10 years, is delighted with the brewery's success and the recent refurbishment.
He said: "Everyone has really enjoyed seeing the bar go from strength to strength and we have been really pleased with all the brews we have made."
The Tigers Eye and Moonstone Dark have been popular beers at below five per cent proof but the Red Jasper at 6 per cent proof has become the strongest beer of choice.
Mick said: "The first anniversary brew, Sunstone, sold out very quickly. In fact it was the fastest ever. The customers really liked it so we will have to do it again."
The brewery is visible from the bar area - a feature which has attracted customers from all over the country. They can see the latest ales being made from different ingredients and fermenting for around three weeks.
The recent refurbishment has also seen a seven month transformation to a lighter, cafe-style bar. The pub also serves a selection of household name beers.
