STAN Ternent's double-capture of a month ago are set to see out the season together at Turf Moor.
Five-goal striker David Johnson and former England star Paul Gascoigne will be part of the Clarets push for the play-offs.
Johnson's loan deal from Nottingham Forest was extended last night until the end of the season, while Ternent underlined that newspaper speculation that Gazza was about to quit the club was way off the mark.
The 34-year-old former Spurs, Lazio and Rangers star has been on the bench for the Clarets last two matches and was not called on during Saturday's 2-0 home win over Gillingham.
But Ternent confirmed that Gascoigne was not about to end his Turf Moor tenancy at just 23 days after his parting of the ways with Premiership outfit Everton.
"Of course we knew when we took Paul on that we would be taking on everything that came with it," said Ternent.
"With players like that an awful lot of media speculation is involved, but the tales that he is leaving are absolute nonsense.
"Paul is still very much involved with the club."
As for Johnson the situation is clear. The player wants to join the Clarets and Ternent definitely wants him.
"We hope that David will stay with us and we are just hoping we can sort it all out," said Ternent.
Johnson is also keen to conclude a permanent deal in the summer and, while figures of up to a £1million have been toted, there is every chance that Burnley could get their man for free as Forest are keen to remove one of their higher wage earners from their books.
Should the Clarets manage to take the former Bury and Ipswich front-runner on board for nothing it will represent a major coup as his last two deals saw the Jamaican-born player move for £1.1million from Gigg Lane to Portman Road in November 1997 and then for £3million to the City Ground in January 2001.
Johnson is just keen to get on with the job of helping Burnley into the play-offs and to add to a return of five goals in six matches.
"We didn't play that well against Gillingham, but we know that the important thing is to keep a clean sheet because we can always get the goals to win the game," said Johnson.
"It was great having Steve Davis back at the weekend, his organisation at the back was a big bonus.
"But while we missed chances in the first half, we are always confident that they are going to come.
"It was nice to get on the scoresheet again and I would like to push on and get a few more - I'm always hopeful that if I get a chance I can pop it in."
