COMEDIAN Jim Davidson has announced that his show tonight at King George's Hall, Blackburn, will go ahead as planned.
The TV funnyman had been concerned about the suitability of his show and had considered postponing it out of respect on the day of the Queen Mother's funeral. Davidson -- a staunch royalist and holder of the OBE -- was worried that the 'adult' nature of the show celebrating 25 years in showbusiness might not be appropriate on a national day of mourning.
But it has been decided that the performance should go ahead as it would been difficult to inform everyone who has purchased tickets, and to cancel the show at such short notice would disappoint many fans.
There will however be a few serious words from the nation's favourite funnyman, when he will pay his respects to the Queen Mother during the show and provide a few moments of quiet reflection for the audience.
The performance at King George's Hall is part of a national tour and will include many of the comedian's favourite stand-up routines.
Some tickets are still available for the show which starts at 7.30pm priced from £16. For details contact the box office on 01254 582582.
