A 93-YEAR-OLD woman was duped by a conman who called at her home in Westwood Street, Accrington, claiming he was selling insurance.
The thief called at the house at 3.10pm on Thursday, March 28, offering to sell insurance for her television aerial.
After distracting her by asking for a glass of water, he stole a black leather purse containing cash and other items before escaping.
The thief is described as white, aged around 40 years old with dark hair, and was wearing jeans, a jacket, possibly a dark colour, and spoke with a Lancashire accent. Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
