MOTORWAY drivers were delayed for more than hour yesterday when a car swerved off the M65 and down an embankment.
Police said Ghulam Sarwar, 22, of Ada Street, Keighley, lost control of a Toyota Carina between junction 11 and 12 of the motorway between Burnley and Nelson. Officers said they believed a burst tyre caused the vehicle to swerve at about 10.50am.
Passenger Nazmeen Akhtar, 21, also of Ada Street, Keighley suffered a suspected broken leg. The driver and three backseat passengers had minor cuts and bruises.
The other passengers were Tazleen Akhtar, 29, of Ada Street, Keighley, Nazoor Begum, 41, of Devonshire Street West, Keighley and Amanta Khan, 48, also of Devonshire Street West, Keighley.
