BRAVE Kim Lowes of the Padiham Medical Centre is off to the capital to take part in the 26.2mile Flora London Marathon.
She is doing this superhuman effort to raise money for the little known CRY charity which funds research into Cardiac Risk in the Young.
Kim is hoping to raise £1,000 but hasn't yet reached her target. Anyone who wants to sponsors her can pop into the Medical Centre with donations.
Kim said: "Don't buy that bar of chocolate or packet of cigarettes, give the money instead and support this wonderful charity. Think of the young people with heart problems!"

Councillor bowled over
HAPTON Parish Councillor John Pinder had a very pleasant surprise on Wednesday evening when he held his first training bowling session on the green. He expected mild interest but was amazed at the number of folk who rolled up and he enrolled 16 juniors and six adults.
He will be holding three sessions on three Wednesday's in every month at 6.30pm-8pm. For further details ring Chairman, Joan Lakeland on 01282 779690.
