RENOWNED folk singer Vin Garbutt will top the bill at Leigh Folk Club on April 26.
One of the most sought-after performers on the circuit, Vin will bring his powerful and witty songs, accompanied by his guitar and whistle, to the Conservative Club in Railway Road, Leigh.
The show, hosted by resident band Calico, will present funny and quirky observations on life through song and comedy. The performance starts at 8.15pm, tickets cost £5 and are available from Pauline Dowsett on 01942 604603.
Calico would like to thank everyone who helped make a tribute night to former group member Joe Roberts a success.
The event, held in memory of Joe, who died suddenly last year, took place at Leigh St Joseph's Hall and featured local and international folk artists who gave their time for the cause. £1200 was raised for the Children of Chernobyl.
Calico are grateful to Bram Taylor, Hindley Duo Cath and Paul Holden, Woodend, Gary and Vera Aspey as well as all those who supported a cracking night.
