DARWEN writer and poet Pam McKee has been recruited by Blackburn Central Library to take part in the Chatterbooks government scheme aimed at promoting a love of literature among children and adults.
Working as part of the Just Poets duo with her writing partner Norman Warwick, Pam is to present a show at the library on April 23.
Pam presented two shows for youngsters at Darwen and Livesey libraries last month and the April session is planned for adults.
The Chatterbooks scheme is run by 25 libraries across the UK, all of which run a series of after-school reading and writing clubs.
Pam, of Height End Farm, Hoddlesden, said: "These events are just a part of a plan to develop a love of reading and writing.
"We will be delighted if we can just create an awareness that poetry and literature both reflect and affect our lives."
The poetry event will be held at Blackburn Central Library at 7.30pm on Tuesday, April 23.
