A SPECIAL collection of books, videos and CD's about Pakistani history and culture has gone on display.
A donation by the Darwen Pakistani Culture and Literature Society, has swelled the already large collection Blackburn Central Library has on the Indian sub-continent, many in community languages.
Reader development manager Janet Swan said special displays were a great way of offering readers suggestions for new things to try.
She added: "Local people may have relatives in Pakistan, may have visited the area or read a story set in Pakistan and then get a taste to find out more about its history and culture. Special collections also encourage readers to share reading suggestions.
"This collection is also a great way for members of the community who have not used the library before to come in and see what is available."
The material will be available for loan to any member of the library. The collection will spend six months at Blackburn Library before moving on to Darwen Library.
